Prepaid cards are cards where the person's credit is so bad, that the bank will not extend any unsecured credit and instead demands that the person deposits money in to an account to secure the credit line that is extended. The "credit" is secured by the money in the account and the bank will take it to make sure that their loan is repaid. These cards are very very expensive and I suggest that if you need one of these cards that you try to learn by prior errors and keep a close eye on your credit. If you don't have to have one of these, I suggest not getting it. |
